Lush mini haul

I had a LUSH-cious experience this past weekend that truly exemplifies how to treat yourself. This was my first time entering a Lush store and the staff definitely compliments the brand. These lovely ladies were welcoming, knowledgeable, and friendly. Another delightful surprise, one of the employees was a sorority sister.
Here are the goodies that I ended up with...

1. Bubblegum lip scrub: Dessert for your lips to be soft and sweet. The best part is you can lick the excess flavored sugar.

2. Ultrabland facial cleanser: Made with almond oil, rose water, and beeswax among other natural ingredients that remove your makeup to leave your skin feeling fresh, clean, and moisturized.

3. Eau roma water (rose/lavendar toner): Can be used to hydrate skin or sprayed on a cotton pad to wipe away dirt.

4. It started with a kiss lip tint: For a ruby red pout. *worn in this Sassy Sunday picture

5. Lip service lip balm: Has shea butter, cocoa butter, and extra virgin olive oil to soften your lips. This is my new must-have in my everyday beauty bag.

Don't have a Lush store near you...no worries, shop here.

Until next time,

Sassy sugar scrub

Inspired by my favorite lip balm: C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve, I wanted to create something just as sweet for my hands.

What you'll need:
1/8 cup of extra virgin olive oil
2/3 cup granulated white sugar
10-12 drops of fragrance
8-10 drops of vitamin E oil
5oz leak-proof jar
red food coloring
decorative rose
ribbon

Where to shop:
Grocery store: olive oil, sugar, food coloring
Hobby Lobby: Crafty Candle Fragrance
Something Fabulous fragrance,
Vitamin E oil, ribbon, flower accessory
Sally's Beauty Supply: 5oz jar

Mix your ingredients in a bowl separate from your jar. Add more fragrance if olive oil is too overpowering. Add red food coloring so the color matches the scent.
Spoon ingredients in the jar.

Perfect for a homemade gift, beauty night, or just to simply treat yourself.

Enjoy.

Until next time,

Playful peacock

Because it's raining outside and I rather play with make-up than put my clothes away...

peacock eyes
(♥)

As I rummaged through my make-up caboodles, I was inspired by The Beauty of Color: The Ultimate Beauty Guide for Skin of Color by Iman to try this look. It was really easy to-do and fun experimenting with the ending colors of the rainbow.

What I used:

Mary Kay eye primer (not pictured)

1. Mary Kay Mineral eye color: Peacock blue
2. Maybelline Eyestudio: Legendary Lilac
3. Mary Kay Mineral eye color: Emerald
4. Victoria's secret Beauty Rush: Hot Ginger

Daydreaming and admiring the rain.

Until next time,
